Once a peaceful farmer, war was the last thing that ever entered his mind. Hayah and his wife Misty raised rice and sold it for good money. But then the Nurith came, and all that changed forever. As the couple fought the Nurith together, they acquired more and more of a following, until the men they commanded became known as the Macerean Knights, fiercest of all warriors and Macerios' last line of defense. Misty made battle plans and Hayah led the army, and all fled before the fierce weapons and the glittering armor of the Macerean knights
Two knights in particular were the mightiest of warriors, and they were the brothers Joab and Asahel. But on an attack into Pintheo, an emissary of the king lured Joab to switch sides with fair words and great promises. This was a tremendous blow to the Macerean knights, for they all loved Joab well. But this sent Hayah into a furious rage. He ordered that if Joab were to be seen, that he bee slain on sight. Soon after, Asahel became a Lieutenant to the Macerean nights, and Joab became a general of the Pinthean troops. But the war was soon postponed due to the Flames of Lebo Pintheo. Twenty years later, the knights are still around, and they have been set to work, fending off small raids on the border of Macerios. But one day a man named Natalph returned and told Hayah that a new warrior from the west will soon be arriving, and that they should expect him soon. He will be the key to the destruction of the Nurith, for he is a Word-Wielder. A din of excitement has run through the Macerean Knights camp ever since, but the warrior has not arrived. What could be holding him up? And where did Natalph go? He hasn't shown his face ever since. Yet in the west all is quiet, and even as they speak the Nurith are building their strongholds on Macerean lands. Should they heed the words of Natalph and wait for the Word-Wielder, or should they take matters into their own hands?
